  • 18 341st Medium Bombt Group B-25s and more than 95 14th Air Force fighter-bombers attack Japanese Army troop movements, transportation targets, and various other targets.

  • FEAF B-24s and B-25s, and XIII Fighter Command P-38s mount intense attacks against the Balikpapan area, nearby shore defenses, and the Manggar airfield on Borneo.

Philippines

On Luzon the American paratroopers dropped at Aparri advance south taking Gattaran. 7 villages south of Prome are cleared of Japanese units. Units of the 37th Div recapture Taguegarao, from which the Japanese had expelled the Filipino guerrillas.
