Eastern Front

Marshal Vasilevski has build up his armies around Konigsberg in order to crush the German garrison. The 11th Guards Army is poised south of the city while the 50th and 43rd Armies are ready to the north and northwest. The 39th Army is to sever the link with the Samland Group. In preparation for the attack, Soviet arty begins softening the German defenses.

Masonmagyarovar falls to the 46th Army in northwest Hungary, while the 6th Guards Army reaches the shores of Lake Neuseidler. In western Hungary the Nagykanitsa oilfields, Germany's last source of natural oil, falls to the 57th Army.
