The US 1st Army continues to prepare for COBRA, shifting the 4th Division from the command of the VIII Corps to that of the VII.

In the XIX Corps area, the 134th Infantry of the 35th Division relieves TF C, 29th Division, in St Lô.

In the British 2nd Army's Canadian II Corps area, the 2nd Division takes St Andre-sur-Orne against strong opposition.

In the VIII Corps area, Bourguebus falls to the 7th Armored Division and Frenouville to the Guards Armored Division. This ends the action to expand the Orne bridgehead and threaten Falaise.
