The British V Corps pursues the enemy up the Adriatic coast, with the Indian 4th Division taking Pescara and Chieti.

In the US 5th Army's VI Corps area, the 1st Armored Division, relieved by the 36th Division on the left and the FEC on the right, is withdrawn from the line. The 36th Division is responsible for the entire VI Corps zone.

In the II Corps area, the final elements of the corps are withdrawn from the line.

In the FEC area, Lt-Gen Edgar de Larminat, as head of the Pursuit Corps, directs the advance of the Algerian 3rd Division on the west and the 1st Motorozed Division on the east in a narrow sector, which is largely west of Highway 2, on the right flank of the 5th Army.

In the British 8th Army's XIII Corps area, German rear guards are slowing the advance of the South African 6th Armored Division below Bagnoregio. The 4th Division reverts to the corps from the British X Corps upon relief east of the Tiber River by the Indian 8th Division. The X Corps is meeting considerable resistance below Terni. The New Zealand 2nd Division reaches Avezzano.
