Italy

In the US 5th Army area, the VI meets increased resistance on the left flank. The 180th and 157th Regiments, 45th Division, advance to the railroad west of the Albano road, but the 157th is forced back in a counterattack. The 179th Infantry moves forward to fill a gap along the railroad between the 45th and 34th Divisions. The 34th Division, with the 133rd Infantry on the left and the 168th on the right, battles German strongpoints below Lanuvio. The 3rd Division is actively patrolling on the right flank of the VI Corps. The 1st SSF repels a German attack down the Valmontone road.

The FEC continues clearing the Lepini Moutains.

On the right, the Moroccan 2nd Division is approaching Ceccano.

In the British 8th Army's XIII Corps area, the Germans withdraw from Arce during the night. In the X Corps area, the New Zealand 2nd Division reaches the Melfa and establishes a bridgehead.
