In a message to the women of the Empire broadcast from Buckingham Palace, Queen Elizabeth says women 'have real and vital work to do' and assures women that they are 'keeping the Home Front, which will have dangers of its own, stable and strong.'

Occupied Poland

364 Jews (men, women and children) are executed by a firing squad in the town of Ostrow Mazowiecki in southeaster Poland, allegedly for setting fire to the town. The execution is carried out by the 4th Police Battalion commanded by Police Colonel Brenner.
