Eastern Front

The battle for Konigsberg corridor begins as Group Samland attacks. 3 divisions of the XXVIII Corps, supported by the fire of the battle cruiser Admiral Scheer, strike the 39th Army in Samland. Simultaneously Lasch begins his attack and after fighting Metgethen falls. The 2nd Belorussian Front continues to hit the 4th Army in the Heiligenbeil pocket.

The Soviet 6th Army attacks Breslau but fails to break the German line while the 4th Panzer Army abandons its attack along the Bobr.
