Western Europe

21st ARMY GROUP
Canadian 1st Army

In the II Corps area, the Canadian 2nd Division completes its drive across south Beveland, reaching the east end of the Walcheren causeway. The Canadian 3rd Division is nearing the end of its action reducing the Breskens Pocket.

In the British I Corps area, the 415th Infantry, spearheading for the US 104th Division, reaches the Mark River and attempts to take a bridge near Standdaarbuiten, but the Germans blow it.

British 2nd Army

The XII Corps makes patrol contact with the I Corps. The 7th Armored Division drives westward to Oosterhout and makes contact with the Polish 1st Armored Division of the I Corps.

In the VIII Corp area, the enemy makes a final effort to advance in the Peel Marshes but is brought to a halt.

12th ARMY GROUP
US 1st Army

The V Corps outlines further action to be taken by the 28th Division after is seizes its first objective, the line Vossenack-Schmidt.

US 3rd Army

In the XX Corps area, the 357th Infantry of the 90th Division completes the capture of Maizières-lès-Metz opening the route to Metz from the north.

6th ARMY GROUP
US 7th Army

In the VI Corps area, elements of the 45th Division seize St Benoit, on the Rambervillers-Raon-l'Etape road. The 3rd Division now holds a broad salient west of St Dié and the Meurthe from the vicinity of Nompatelize on the north to Traintrux on the south. In the 36th Division zone, the 442nd Infantry at last makes contact with and relieves the 1st Battalion of the 141st Infantry.
