Western Front

In the Canadian 1st Army area, the II Corps, leaving the Polish 1st Armored and Canadian 3rd Divisions to complete the reduction of the Falaise-Argentan Pocket, drives to the east toward the Seine at Rouen.

In the British 2nd Army's XXX Corps area, the 11th Armored Division, spearheading for the corps, bypasses Gacé and drives on toward Laigle.

In the US 1st Army's V Corps area, the 80th Division is relieved of the responsibility for its sector near Argentan by the British XXX Corps. The 102nd Cavalry Group, which has closed in the Sées area, begins to reconnoiter northeast of Sées and east of Exmes. The VII Corps commits the 9th Division to a defensive role in the Montagne area. In the XIX Corps area, the 2nd Armored Division bypasses Verneuil and advances toward Breteuil. The 28th Division moves up to clear Verneuil. The 30th Division meanwhile overruns Nonancourt.

In the US 3rd Army's XV Corps area, while the 79th Division improves and expands the bridgehead across the Seine in the Mantes-Gassicourt area, the 5th Armored Division continues northward toward Louviers. In the XX Corps area, the 7th Armored Division drives to the Arpajon-Rambouillet area as the 5th Division overruns Etampes. In the XII Corps are, the 4th Armored Division captures Sens. The 35th Division pushes through Pithiviers.
