Eastern Front

NORTHERN SECTOR

The heavy fighting in the north increases in ferocity as the Narva Operational Group continues to attack the III SS Panzer Corps north of Lake Peipus. The 2nd Shock Army launches a furious attack with heavy arty support and breaks through the German positions. Under fierce attack, the Germans evacuate Narva, falling back to their 'Tannenberg' defense line.

To the south the 10th Guards Army takes Kraslava as the 2nd Baltic Front closes upon Daugavpils.

CENTRAL SECTOR

Elements of the 1st Belorussian Front are involved in heavy fighting around Brest-Litovsk as the Germans bar the road to the town. Firhting also rates to the west as Group Kryukov of the 70th Army breaks into Seidlice. The Germans rush up reinforcements and launch a stron counterattack. The Luftwaffe, scarce in these times, even manages a few sorties.

Leading tanks of the 2nd Tank Army reach the Vistula near Deblin while the 1st Polish Army follows in its wake. A surprose attack by the 2nd Tank farther north secures a small bridghead at Magnuszew.

SOUTHERN SECTOR

Bitter fighting continues in Lvov as the 1st Panzer Army pulls out to escape destruction inside the city.
