Western Front - Battle For Caen

500 men of the 43rd Reconnaissance Regiment of the 43rd Division are on board the Derry Cunihy just off the beach at Normandy when the ship explodes having set off a pressure mine. The explosion tears the Derry Cunihy into two halves. Of the Regiment 180 are killed and 150 wounded. The survivors are transferred to the French luxury liner Cap Tourain.
