- U-94 sinks the British steamer Rushpool (5125t), straggling from Convoy SC-19, southest of Rockall. All 40 of the crew are picked up by the British destroyer Anthony.
- The Norwegian steamer Austvard (3677t) is sunk by German bombing 130 miles west of Galway Island. There are 5 survivors from the 28-man crew.
- The German steamer Konigsberg (2530t) sinks on a mine near the Elbe I lightship.
