Balikpapan, Dutch Borneo. June 27, 1945. Aboard landing ship, tank (LST) which transported Australian troops and equipment to the landing. The LST carried approximately five hundred troops besides heavy equipment. A good proportion of the troops pitched their small tents on the deck of the ship.
