Here we see an M36 90-mm Gun Motor Carriage in Munich, soon after American troops entered the city on April 29, 1945. The M36 can be identified by the slope of the side armor combined with the long gun with muzzle break. Note the bar that has been installed across the nose to support sandbag armor. This was installed to protect against hand-held anti-tank weapons
