Bombing of Mainz
After 20 minutes of dropping bombs and thousands of incendiaries by the British Air Force on February 27, 1945, the city of Mainz was turned into an inferno of flames and smoke. When it was over, 80 percent of the city were destroyed. Mainz was no longer. The attack took more than 1,200 lives.
