Striking the Nazi 'heart'

Striking the Nazi 'heart'
The Nazis claimed Nuremberg as their spiritual heart. Lying deep inside Germany, the city was difficult to attack but, with the Allied advance of 1944/45, the city became a frequent point of attack. These are pictures taken before and after the penultimate large-scale attack by Bomber Command on the city during the night of January 2-3, 1945.
