Western Europe

21st ARMY GROUP
US 1st Army

In the VII Corps area, the 4th Cavalry Group and the 84th Division pursue the enemy on the right of the corps to Marcourt and Cielle. Other elements of the 84th Division start clearing the woods south of the main road junction southeast of Manhay. The 2nd Armored Division drives on Samrée with CCA moving southward from Dochamps and CCB pushing southeastward along the Salmchâteau-Samreé road. The 3rd Armored Division gains its intermediate objective line, taking Hebronval, Ottre, Joubievel and Provedroux.

In the XVIII Corps (Airborne) area, the 82nd Airborne Division consolidates along the line Grand Sart-Samchâteau-Trois Ponts and clears Comté.

12th ARMY GROUP
US 3rd Army

In the VIII Corps area, the Germans drive 87th Division units from Bonnerue and maintains pressure in the Tillet region. Some 17th Airborne Division elements gain and then lose the high ground north of Laval and others are forced out of Flamierge.

In the III Corps area, the 6th Armored Division recovers the lost ground in the Neffe-Wardin sector. TF Fickett occupies the zone between the 35th and 26th Divisions, along the high ground before Villers-la-Bonne-Eau, Betlange, and Harlange.

6th ARMY GROUP
US 7th Army

In the XV Corps area, the Germans enter Rimling. The 100th and 36th Divisions improve their positions in local attacks.

In the VI Corps area, the 45th Division makes slight progress against the western flank of the salient. TF Herren becomes responsible for the eastern flank. The 79th Division withstands pressure near Aschbach and moves reinforcements to the Soultz-Rittershoffen area. The Germans check the efforts to reduce the Gambsheim bridgehead. The 314th Infantry is unable to advance in Drusenheim or southeast of Rohrweiler. CCB, 12th Armored Division, attacks with the 714th Tank Battalion toward Herrlisheim.
