Eastern Front

NORWAY

The 14th Army is 12 miles east of Kirkenes and continues to push the 20th Mountain Army back.

CENTRAL SECTOR

In East Prussia the 3rd Panzer Army counterattacks near Gumbinnen and destroys leading elements of the 11th Guards Army. The Soviet advance is brought to a halt with heavy casualties.

SOUTHERN SECTOR

Group Pliev takes Nyireghaza, threatening the rear of the 8th Army. In Yugoslavia, Zemun falls as the 57th Army advances north from Belgrade.
