Sicily

In US 7th Army's II Corps area, the 3rd Division speeds eastward along the coast to the vicinity of Barcellona. Some 9th Division elements make contact with the 3rd Division in the Montalbano area. Those units on Highway 120 are passed through by the 18th RCT of the 1st Division, which continues pursuit east of Randazzo. Patti is taken by the Americans.

The British 8th Army is out of contact with enemy.

In early morning hours Hube orders units to pull back to Phase Line 2. Most of the 29th Panzer Grenadier Division is headed for the evacuation points. The Rear guard of the 29th is ordered to hold the Phase Line 2 until night of the 15th so more equipment can be evacuated.
