A Bishop of the 142nd Field Regiment, Sicily, July 27, 1943. The Bishop was a self-propelled gun, based on the chassis of the Valentine tank, which mounted a 25-pdr howitzer. It saw action in North Africa and Italy. It was nicknamed 'Bishop' because of the shape of the superstructure.
