The 40th and 69th Armies begin a hurried redeployment northwest of Kharkov. Hitler unfairly dismisses Lanz, replacing him with Kempf. Group Lanz, renamed Army Detachment Kempf, holds under its command SS Panzer Corps and Corps Raus. Zmiyef falls to the Soviet 6th Army. |
