Japanese Second Wave Attacks
The second Japanese wave on 9 Apr 1942 occurred at 1035 hours. The attacking force was formed by 85 dive bombers D3A1 and 6 fighters A6M2. The dive bomber units were under leadership of Lt. Cmdr Kakuichi Takahashi. These planes attacked and sunk the British aircraft carrier HMS Hermes.
