Operation PUNISHMENT was the code name for the German bombing of Belgrade, Yugoslavia’s capital, which began on 6 April 1941 (Palm Sunday), and continued through 10 April. Among the main targets of the Luftwaffe was the Yugoslav royal palace of King Peter II in downtown Belgrade.
